Grow with us!

Are you a local flower farmer who is interested in joining the Utah Flower Market? Check out the information below to see if the market might be a good fit for you and your farm.

Mission

As a grower-owned cooperative market, we create opportunities for growers and buyers to connect and to share the joy, beauty, and abundance of unique local flowers. We make it easy for flower lovers and flower farmers to collaborate in ways that are mutually beneficial and that encourage sustainable growth in our industry, while bringing a high quality product to our community.

(Check out the values that guide us here)

What We need

Experience: We are looking for growers who have at least 1-2 years of experience selling to wholesale clients and familiarity with wholesale standards for cut flowers (we use the Seattle Growers Market Floral Standards Book). It's important that growers have a proven track record of being able to reliably predict product volume and availability for wholesale clients. We will give preference to growers who have established relationships with florists and can bring new customers to the market.

Specialty: When you are starting your flower farm journey it is great to grow a little bit of everything, but when you move into a competitive wholesale market it's important to be able to specialize and produce fewer crops at higher quality and volume. As a flower market we will give preference to farmers who can specialize in crops that our wholesale clients need over farmers that just grow a little bit of everything.  We also will give preference to growers who have a unique bloom window for their flowers. (For example: a microclimate that makes your peonies bloom later or earlier than the rest of our growers).

Unique Skills: Because we are a grower owned cooperative and not a single owner LLC we work together as farmers to run a successful market. Our member growers commit to volunteering at the market 2 times a month. Our farmers also take turns participating in leadership roles and helping with projects. If you have unique skills beyond farming that you are willing and able to contribute we want to know!

Personality: The flower market is a big group project and we know that group projects aren't for everyone. We are looking for people who enjoy collaboration, can resolve conflict and appreciate the unique skill sets that others bring to the success of the market. If you are deeply independent, conflict averse, a perfectionist, or just like to be in control, cooperative selling may not be a great fit for you.

The Benefits

  • A reliable sales outlet and established customer base.

  • Being part of a supportive community of flower farmers.

  • Potential for profit sharing for member growers.

  • Mentoring and education from seasoned growers.

  • A vote and a voice in how the market is governed and managed.

  • Less marketing, admin and customer service for your farm.

The Options

Member GrowersThese growers participate in the market weekly from April-October and are free to bring any available product. They have the potential for profit sharing, voting, and leadership after their first provisional year. They are also required to volunteer twice a month at the market.

Contract Growers: These growers are asked to contribute certain products to the market. They do not have to volunteer at the market, but they also pay a higher percentage on each sale. This is a great fit for farmers who specialize in certain products or farm outside of Utah Valley.

The Application Process

The application period to join the 2027 market will be open until March 31, 2026

Apply: Applications will be reviewed as they are received and we will reach out with any questions or concerns.

Farm Visit: If your farm is being considered for membership we will set up a farm visit for the 2026 growing season. We like to come see your growing space, chat with you in person, and answer any questions you may have.

Invitation: Invitations to new growers will be sent out in mid-September so you can plan accordingly in the fall. Membership fees are due by January 7 of 2027.

Please keep in mind: The choice to add new growers to our market depends on the supply of our farmers and the demand of our customers. There are some years where we don't accept any new growers and others where we invite a few new growers to participate. Even if you are a fantastic fit for our market we may not be able to offer you a place in the year you apply. But we will consider qualified applications for future years.

The market has exceeded all of our expectations. Not only has it given us a steady outlet we can count on, it has also provided a supportive community that has taught us so much.
