Administrative Assistant Responsibilities

 

We are looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Some of these tasks include: sending emails to buyers, printing market materials (pre-orders, product labels), answering emails, communicating with both growers and florists.

 

Individual must be available to be at Grove Station each Wednesday from approximately 6:30 am-12 pm, starting April 19 through the end of October. Paid training will start mid-March. Much of this work is remote work, so individual must have access to a phone, computer, and internet.

 

Average hours per week: 10-15 hours

Compensation: $18-22/hr dependent on experience

 

Requirements and Skills: Basic

  • Willingness to learn about local flowers, varieties, and bloom times

  • Willingness to learn Rooted Farmers platform

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask

  • Proficient time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor

 

Requirements and Skills: Preferred

  • Basic Requirements and Skills listed above and the following:

  • Knowledge and experience with local flowers, varieties, and bloom times

  • Experience with local florists and/or local growers

  • Experience on Rooted Farmers platform

 

Responsibilities:

  • Professional communication with florists and growers (including emails, phone calls, texts, and in-person interactions)

  • Assist with market day set-up and product check-in

  • Preparing signage for weekly markets

  • Reviewing orders, pricing, and other administrative tasks

  • Responsibilities and duties may change with experience and the needs of the market
